It is the last day of our Lord’s earthly life, after a night of anguish. Distressed over leaving his disciples, in anguish of soul over what he must face. Betrayed, denied, and abandoned by his disciples. Arrest, maltreatment, and mockery from the Jewish authorities.
I’m getting older. No big news in that, is there? We all are. But I’ve noticed one interesting thing as I age. And that is that I grow in self-confidence as time passes. Yet, age also brings certain concerns with it. We’ve never had a great deal of money come our way, which means our pension will be pretty tight. Something we could sit and worry about. But what’s the point?
